I've recently installed a Multiple Spark Capacitive Discharge device on an M14R engine. This replaces the coil and the high-tension lead of the right magneto. An external coil is used.
The system delivers about 120 milliJoule per spark, and multiple sparks per ignition phase are fired.
There's a noticeable difference between the left mag (original) and the electronics on the right: 3 % RPM difference at all regimes.
The advantage of a much hotter spark is also quite clear at startup and with the engine running at low RPM.
A first test flight has been done. More data will be collected asap
